Fairbanks Review - Kaleidoscope Billiards

There's a little known kid's place in Fairbanks, that I'm excited about. Kaleidoscope is hidden on a back street, next to Splash n Dash car wash, behind the Teddy Bear plaza. I ventured in one day looking for pinball for a friend who likes to play. What a surprise! What a haven for kids! It's an old style arcade. They pride themselves on being a family place. There is no smoking and it's non-alcholic. They don't tolerate any fighting or violence. Most of the games are some of the originals; donkey-kong, mario-brothers, pac-man. In the arcade section of the building there is a cool, blacklight hallway, with glowing planets and hanging jungle animals watching you. The full size air hockey table has a puck that glows in the black light - the kids love it. All the games in the place have stickers that identify if there is violence in the game. Most of the games do not, and there are a few that have guns but there are only three of them and they are discretely hidden behind a curtain. How wonderful! A place to take the kids to let them have a chance on some of the fun games we used to hang out at the mall playing, without being exposed to some of those mindless, violent ones. There is also a toddler section, with a couch and large-screen tv, toddler toys and drawing supplies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's a fantastic way to spend an hour or two with your kids. 474-0660 check their hours first, they're unusual.
