Reminder

This is not really a "kid" event, but for parents.

Just a reminder that Dr. Brazelton is coming to Fairbanks August 2nd.

Dr. T. Berry Brazelton is an internationally known pediatrician and the pre-eminent child development expert in the United States. He is the author of over 30 books and the star of many television productions and parenting videos. Dr. T. Berry Brazelton explains child development as containing “touchpoints” which represent opportunities for clinicians and educators to help parents and children through difficult and predictable phases of development. This roadmap to childhood development emphasizes building on the strengths of children, families and practitioners, offering research and tools to enhance that process.

There is a free lecture on August 2nd...

Parents’ Night Stresses and Supports for Today’s FamiliesWednesday, August 2 , 7-8:30 p.m., Davis Concert Hall
Dr. Brazelton’s presentation will focus on the many stresses parents face today and the pressures imposed on them to perform. Based on his many interviews with parents, Dr. Brazelton will offer solutions for relieving these stresses. His talk will be based on an attachment model, with the goal of establishing healthy self-esteem in both the parent and the child. His presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Individuals registered for the seminar are encouraged to attend this event. Open seating. Free to the public.

The reminder is for the day long lecture : Building Communities Around Families
Thursday, August 3, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Davis Concert Hall

You save money if you register by June 1st, which is just around the corner. I'll re-post all of the seminar info as we get closer to August.
